WEEKLY ENGLISH BULLETIN

MY LITTLE ISLAND CURRICULUM
UNIT: Unit 7 Time to Eat
OBJECTIVES:
  1. To identify food vocabulary
  2. To learn a new song “I love pasta”
  3. To listen and understand the story “Aunt Ann’s Kitchen”
  4. To learn new language structures
  5. To role play a story

TARGET WORDS AND DIALOGUES:
Apple, bread, chicken, cookies, pasta, salad
I like ….. , I don’t like …… , I love …….

WORKING IN THE STUDENT BOOK:
Pages 58, 59, 60 and 61 were studied.

STORY TIME:
Students listened to the story “Aunt Ann’s Kitchen”

TABLE ACTIVITY
Students draw their favorite food on a piece of paper, or they formed food shapes with dough. 

DRAMA:
  1. Students role-played the story “Aunt Ann’s Kitchen” They acted as the characters of the story and repeated their dialogues.
  2. Students thought of and created actions which represent the new food words.

GAMES:
  1. Students form a circle and pass the flashcards of the previous words along with the music. When the music stops, teacher calls out a word and the student holding that card shows his/her card to his/her friends.
  2. Still in the circle, when the music stops students hold and hide their cards from their friends. Then, his/her friends guess which card they are holding.
  3. Cards of the new unit are introduced and held on the board. Students speak one by one and form a sentence with I like, I don’t like, I love …….
  4. Teacher draws food on the SmartBoard. She draws one line at a time. With every line students try to understand the food.

SONGS:
“I love pasta”: It is the 36th song of the Songs and Chants CD of our book.

HOMEWORK:
Pages 46 and 47 of the activity book are the homework pages for this weekend. You can see the help videos on ingilizcesevgisi.blogspot.com. The videos will be uploaded on Saturday morning.
